LDA Studio Policies
Please read our registration and studio policies prior to registration.
We are following all SMC guidelines and regulations to keep LDA students, families, and instructors safe and will hold all classes in-person as Covid regulations allow but will continue to keep our lobby and studio facilities closed to dancer and faculty use only in
observance of OSHA recommendations.
~ Fully vaccinated dancers may take class without a mask. All non-vaccinated dancers must wear masks at all times while on studio premises. All families are assuming all risks related to Covid-19 exposure and infection by entering our facilities.
~ All dancers must check in and get temperature checked at the main lobby entrance. Younger dancers will be teacher escorted to their studio and older dancers may move over to studio 4 in the other building after checking in. No parents may enter the studios or lobby unless they have an appointment at the front desk or have a time sensitive question. There will not always be a desk representative available during active class times as most of our teachers are with students. If you have a question please feel free to email us at any time at email@example.com and we can answer your question or set up an in person meeting time!
~ Due to the high interest and registration rate of our program we only offer trial classes during the first week of our Fall Session if there are openings (September). This policy is in place to ensure that our registered students are not enduring a constant revolving door of trial students and observers interrupting the class flow and curriculum, which in turn pulls time and focus from our paid student's needs.
~ We are a closed viewing studio to allow the space needed for our students to focus on the teacher and the curriculum free from distraction. We do not allow parents to view classes except during our Open House weeks that occur twice a year (during non-Covid capacity regulation periods) as well as the last 10 minutes of their dancer's first class (during non-Covid capacity regulation periods).
~ Current SMC county regulations mean we must follow limited capacity requirements; in accordance with this our lobby is closed indefinitely for dancer and faculty use only. Any parents needing in-person assistance may schedule an in-person meeting by sending a meeting request email to: firstname.lastname@example.org
~ Single class dancers (non-intensive) may take a makeup class for missed classes within 1 week of absence (or for a pre-scheduled class timeframe). Intensive students may not make-up for missed classes during the Summer Session as they've already received registration and class discounts and may pro-rate for more than 1 week worth of absences.
~ We are no longer offering online classes at this time.
~ Level promotions are made in the Fall Session of a new dance year and are based on age and ability. We are continually keeping an eye on student placement and if for any reason we believe your dancer needs to move up or down in leveling mid-year we will notify you personally.
Thank you for your continued support and patience as we navigate the continued regulations ~ our commitment to your children is stronger than ever and we will always keep dancers and safety at the forefront of our decision making processes!
LDA Registration Policies
$50 Annual Registration Fee:
There is an annual Family Registration Fee of $50 charged during the Fall Session for renewing families that covers each family for Fall, Spring and Summer Sessions. If you are a new family to LDA you will pay your first annual registration fee upon registration.
A Multi-Class discount is automatically built into our tuition structure. An automatic discount is applied per class for all students registered in any intensive. Summer Registration is for 5 weeks and the entire tuition payment is due upon registration for each 5 week session. NO REFUNDS. Please do not register via this form until you are READY TO COMMIT TO THE FULL 5 WEEK SESSION PAYMENT. Once this registration form is submitted you will be charged for registration if applicable and tuition with no refunds.
Single Class Students may be take make-up classes for absences and illness within one week of the missed class (or during a previously scheduled timeframe that can be scheduled in advanced of a planned absence). Make-up classes can be taken in any genre of the same level or age group. It is the parent's responsibility to notify the studio of the desired make-up time and date. Intensive students may not make-up for missed classes during the sessions as they've already received registration and multi-class discounts and may pro-rate for longer than 1 week's worth of absences.
Studio To Family Fit Policy:
We require all registering families to read and acknowledge all of our studio and registration policies in order to confirm dancers into classes. These are all important policies to take into consideration before choosing to dance with LDA! We truly believe in the importance of studio to family fit and we are dedicated to finding families and dancers that we can cultivate life-long relationships with. The majority of our dancers spend 10+ years under our instruction, so it's worth taking the time to find the right studio for your family's unique needs and dance goals!
Not every studio is a good fit for every family and LDA reserves the right to determine if there is an appropriate fit with each family and dancer prior to inviting them to register or re-register their dancer. Families or dancers who are unable to adhere to our studio policies or dance and/or behave in a manor that is inappropriate amongst our diverse student body, families, and faculty members may be asked to find a different studio to study with. Thank you for understanding that the purpose of our program is to celebrate and embrace the art of dance, and that following all safety rules and regulations as well as LDA policies is a firm requirement in order to dance with us.
